Plagiarism
Hello fellow classmates. I didn't realize that plagiarism goes far beyond just in our writing. I liked on the video we watched that gave the example about a co-worker not giving proper credit verbally when telling another co-worker about putting the ink in the copy machine. I have seen things like that happen and just not pay attention to it. For instance, if I were to give someone advice on how to do something and they went and told a friend how to do it but didn't mention my name, then that friend will not know that I am the one who actually thought of it. I never thought about that being plagiarism but I guess it is. It is basically stealing and idea and not giving proper credit to the author. When looking at it that way I know now that if I were to find out a person did that, I would be upset. I am going to start making sure when I see that happening, I will correct the person. Also, I want to make sure I give proper credit where it is due.

Hi Shelle, it would be the same thing if someone took your work and distributed it to others for their use. That's why the musicians get so upset about people file-sharing their music for free. Something like the co-worker telling how to put the ink in the machine is one of those things that can get away from you. I would never be upset about someone passing along that kind of information to another coworker, but I WOULD be upset about is if the person said, "Hey, look what I figured out!"
