About Me
- Shelle C
- I am a mom, wife, step-mom, and step-grandma. I am going back to college online to get my AAS degree in Medical Office Management. I am interested in helping people so I do volunteer work, I am in the Honors program, and I am a member in the OES. I have Fibromyalgia and want to help others that are suffering with their health and wellness. I want to get my BS in Health and Wellness once I get done with this degree. Mississippi has the most overweight people in it today, and I am interested in helping people overcome that. Anything else you want to know just ask. I am a Christian and I love my life.

A little more about me and my family
I just thought I would tell you a little more about me and my family. I am 33 years old and have two children. My son is 13 and my daughter is 5. I have been married now for 13 years and my husband is 43. He had three children from a previous marriage a son 25, a daughter 24, and a daughter 19. The oldest has one son who is 3, and another on the way. The middle daughter has two children a girl fixing to be 2 and a son about 10 months old. The last one she has a son 7 months old. So we stay on our toes with all of these younguns running around. The puppy in my picture is my baby boy, Sir Rascal Flatts Cockerham, who we call Rascal. He is that for sure, I had made my project for Global Civilization this morning and had to run an errand and when I came home he had been on top of my computer desk and chewed it up. I could have tore him up. He does that when I leave. He gets mad at me and tears something up. I had borrowed a book from the library and came home one evening and he had tore the front and back cover up. He is a full blooded chocolate poodle, and he was my Christmas present last year. I mentioned being in the honor society in school, which I hope I can stay in, so I volunteer at our hospital for that. Even though I do not work I stay pretty busy. My husband works as a supervisor at Sanderson Farms, but he used to drive trucks over the road. I am glad he is home every night now instead of gone weeks at a time. Our daughters name is Alexis and our sons name is Zachary. Lexie, as we call her, has a condition called Marshall Syndrome. She was born with it and the doctors said it wasn't anything we could have done different to prevent it. One of her strands of DNA mutated and caused the collagen in the bones in her face not to form. It also affected her hearing and vision. She had eye surgery when she was about a year old or so. She wears thick glasses and hearing aids. Poor baby has been through a lot since she was born. She loves to learn and they said she might not be able to learn, but she is really smart. I will try and post more pics up here when I get a chance. I hope you enjoyed reading about me and my family and anything else I think of I will post or just ask me if you have questions. Thanks.

Hello Shelle! Congratulations all on your do and are dealing with. It sounds like you have a full plate as well. Perhaps Sir Rascal has some separation anxiety. Have you ever tried crating him while you are gone? I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. There are some cruel children out there. When I was in high school I rode the bus with a girl with severe down syndrome. She talked to her imaginary friend "Scooby Doo" every day. The kids used to pick of her all the time. I got fed up and stood up for her. I also asked her questions and tried to befriend her. She used to let me sit next to her "Scooby Doo" as well. I became her defender. I hope you have a great week. It's nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteShelle thank you for sharing so much with us.
ReplyDeleteWow is all I can say! I enjoyed reading about your family and I too am sorry about your daughter. We can learn so much from children that are different. I was like Heather and can remember defending a child back in the 5th grade. She was blind and had what they called (a water head). Kids used to pick on her and I became her friend. The only two reason I can think of as to why kids pick on each other is one, they do not understand the condition, and two, they are just mean kids. Principals of the schools need to incorporate assembly teaching kids societal skills. More than ever children today are not being raised properly. They have violent internet, all these electronic games, XM radio, and a host of other things to disconnect them from the real world.
You could have taken your 1 post and made it into 10 different ones..lol Please don't take that the wrong way! Just as a reader it would have been easier. Based on what you said you have stories in there...take a breath...take your time, and watch and see what happens!
Thanks again Shelle
Much Love

Hi Shelle, great blog! You have a large family, and that is always wonderful! I am in Honors too and would be interested in how you like Global civilization. I will be taking that too. I also volunteer at the local library as a reading buddy for a gifted 7-yr-old boy who reads at an advanced level and loves the Civil War and American Revolution. I am working through Red Badge of Courage with him. I hope things go well for you in classes and life, as well as for your daughter. She sounds like a sweety!
