Hello classmates,
It is week 5 and time is flying by. It seems like just yesterday I started school. I can say that being in school is influencing my life in a positive way right now. I have gotten the farthest with Kaplan than with any other school. I have to say that I like it and going into the medical profession has helped me think outside of myself and keeps me going. I want to be able to help others and I am more involved in things now rather than sitting at home wondering where my life is going. I hope that one day I will make a difference in this world and most of all it is what the good Lord wants me to do. I don't want to be someone who is selfish, but someone who will give without asking for anything in return. I have grown up a lot and have come to realize, because of my faith and church family, that I don't worry about other people anymore. I do what is right even if I have been done wrong. I don't retaliate against that person. Anyway, up to this point I think school has helped me keep focused and see the future, not just what is right now. Even though you really should focus on the day to day, which I do but I have goals now. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Plagiarism
Hello fellow classmates. I didn't realize that plagiarism goes far beyond just in our writing. I liked on the video we watched that gave the example about a co-worker not giving proper credit verbally when telling another co-worker about putting the ink in the copy machine. I have seen things like that happen and just not pay attention to it. For instance, if I were to give someone advice on how to do something and they went and told a friend how to do it but didn't mention my name, then that friend will not know that I am the one who actually thought of it. I never thought about that being plagiarism but I guess it is. It is basically stealing and idea and not giving proper credit to the author. When looking at it that way I know now that if I were to find out a person did that, I would be upset. I am going to start making sure when I see that happening, I will correct the person. Also, I want to make sure I give proper credit where it is due.

Online Education
I for one like going to school online. Unlike what many think, it is not easier. I like having my classes set up when it is convenient to me, but you have to stay on task to get everything done. If I get to procrastinating on something I can get behind. It is a little hard sometimes, but I do push on. I am glad that I have come so far and my grades are really good. I have never been one, it seems, to be able to finish what I start, but I am definitely finishing this. Being in school is the best thing for me because I know once I get that degree I will feel so much better about myself and that I can accomplish anything. I want to find a job now and not wait until I graduate because I don't know what is ahead. I have heard so many people say they have a degree and still can't find a job. I can always start at the bottom and work my way up. I feel like I am in the right place in my life and I thank God that he has brought me through all the things in my lifetime. It seems like I am finally on the path that God wants me to be on.

A little more about me and my family
I just thought I would tell you a little more about me and my family. I am 33 years old and have two children. My son is 13 and my daughter is 5. I have been married now for 13 years and my husband is 43. He had three children from a previous marriage a son 25, a daughter 24, and a daughter 19. The oldest has one son who is 3, and another on the way. The middle daughter has two children a girl fixing to be 2 and a son about 10 months old. The last one she has a son 7 months old. So we stay on our toes with all of these younguns running around. The puppy in my picture is my baby boy, Sir Rascal Flatts Cockerham, who we call Rascal. He is that for sure, I had made my project for Global Civilization this morning and had to run an errand and when I came home he had been on top of my computer desk and chewed it up. I could have tore him up. He does that when I leave. He gets mad at me and tears something up. I had borrowed a book from the library and came home one evening and he had tore the front and back cover up. He is a full blooded chocolate poodle, and he was my Christmas present last year. I mentioned being in the honor society in school, which I hope I can stay in, so I volunteer at our hospital for that. Even though I do not work I stay pretty busy. My husband works as a supervisor at Sanderson Farms, but he used to drive trucks over the road. I am glad he is home every night now instead of gone weeks at a time. Our daughters name is Alexis and our sons name is Zachary. Lexie, as we call her, has a condition called Marshall Syndrome. She was born with it and the doctors said it wasn't anything we could have done different to prevent it. One of her strands of DNA mutated and caused the collagen in the bones in her face not to form. It also affected her hearing and vision. She had eye surgery when she was about a year old or so. She wears thick glasses and hearing aids. Poor baby has been through a lot since she was born. She loves to learn and they said she might not be able to learn, but she is really smart. I will try and post more pics up here when I get a chance. I hope you enjoyed reading about me and my family and anything else I think of I will post or just ask me if you have questions. Thanks.
